Waterways

by Mandy Doerr

Trickle down the polished rock
Little streamlet from the spring
Tiny pools around edges flock
While flowers frame the rings

Swirl around the ragged woods
Dancing stream from the vale
Where the stag come to brood
Far from the trampled trail

Cut your course through the land
Mighty river from afar
With your sides of mud and sand
And ripples shining like stars

Let your waves beat upon the shore
Imposing ocean, forceful sea
As the surges crash and roar
Do you note the presence of me
